Many breastfeeding mums give up breastfeeding long before they had planned to. A key trigger occurs when baby is just a few weeks old. At this stage babies are crying more as they are learning how to communicate.  However, it can be easy to lose faith in your ability to breastfeed, especially if you find yourself surrounded by people who don't understand that your body has the incredible ability to adjust quantity of milk according to your child's needs. This corresponds with a slight softening of the breasts.  This can lead to doubts about insufficient milk, or even milk allergies.

A fantastic resource from ICON offers information and tips for managing crying in the early weeks.  You can find the content and video here: Comforting methods can help - ICON Cope
